American bakeries range from wholesale operations that supply restaurants to neighborhood shops that sell bread, pastries, cookies and cakes over the counter, and many of them also pour coffee. Bagel shops boil and bake on site and sell out of favorite flavors by late morning; donut shops open before dawn and are often family-run; patisseries and cake studios take custom orders for weddings and birthdays and usually need one to two weeks' notice. Ice cream parlors, gelato shops and frozen yogurt bars are seasonal in the northern states and year-round in the South and on the West Coast. Prices are posted per item, by the dozen or by the pound, and most shops now take cards and mobile payment.

Jacksonville is in Florida, in the Southeast, where summers are long, hot and humid, winters are mild, and afternoon thunderstorms and the hurricane season from June to November can change plans at short notice. Getting around Jacksonville is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across Florida's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

I had such a wonderful experience at this beautiful family owned bakery! ❀️ From the moment I walked in, I felt like I had been transported to Europe. The atmosphere is so cozy, warm, and charming, and you can truly feel the love and care that goes into everything they do. The food was absolutely delicious, and the customer service was exceptional so welcoming, friendly, and genuine. Knowing that it’s a family business makes the experience even more special because you can feel the passion and heart behind this beautiful place. It made me so happy to discover this hidden gem. My new favorite place!! Great service and delicious pastries and cakes. I ordered a cake and was absolutely blown away with how beautiful it was. Also, bought some sourdough bread that was THE BEST ever (jalapeno/cheddar). Thank you!

Little quaint bakery shop with sandwiches. We had the Roast beef sandwich and it was tasty πŸ˜‹, but the Blueberry Cream Pastry was incredible! Made with care, not too sweet just the way pastries are supposed to be. Looking forward to tasting there other pastries πŸ₯°

It was my first visit so I got a thorough tour of the place with explanations of their wide selection of pastries and cakes and savories galore. Everything we tried was pretty awesome & they had something for the whole family! I also tried an iced coffee, which was surprisingly one of the better I’ve had in a while. That wasn’t even in my radar when I walked in there. Looking forward to coming back soon and trying some of their sandwiches & getting some sourdough!

πŸ₯ St. Gabriel Artisan Bread β€” A Hidden Gem of Pure Craft If you love REAL bread and pastries made with care, this place is an absolute treasure. Everything here is truly artisan β€” not just in name, but in taste, texture, and presentation. You can tell immediately that nothing is mass-produced. The sweet pastries were phenomenal. The sugar-crusted pastry had a perfectly soft interior with a lightly crisp, caramelized top β€” rich, fragrant, and not overly sweet. The cinnamon roll-style pastry was warm, buttery, and comforting, with that homemade flavor that feels like it came straight from a family kitchen rather than a commercial bakery. 🍳πŸ₯ Savory Croissant Perfection The savory croissant with eggs was outstanding. The croissant itself was beautifully laminated β€” crisp and flaky on the outside, tender and buttery inside β€” and the eggs were fluffy and fresh, making it a simple but incredibly satisfying breakfast. The balance of textures was chef’s-kiss perfect. β˜• Atmosphere & Overall Experience The presentation is rustic, cozy, and charming, with everything served on simple trays that let the food shine. You can smell the fresh baking the moment you walk in β€” that warm, yeasty p
